This programme is designed to increase and create a safe and secure environment for all traders, their staff and their customers within the inner Cork City confines by the use of combination of city wide radio networks, high profile mobile foot patrol security personnel, plain clothes foot patrol security personnel, Garda liaison and security information flow between internal security personnel and Onyx Security Management.

HOW DOES CORK-SAFE WORK?

Every day, we will provide several security teams comprising of two full time uniformed security personnel that will be patrolling the cork city area. Each team will have a designated street or area, for example Patrick Street. These teams are on call during operational hours of your premises and will attend to any security related issue you may encounter. You will be issued with a contact phone number that will allow direct contact to the Security Operations Manager. This Operations Manager will then assist you with any security requirements you have.

OUR PATROLLING TEAMS:

• Monitor any security related issues on a constant basis
• Will perform hourly random checks on your premises during the day. You will also have access to
  other services such as cash escort or undercover store detective duties.
• Will provide you with a full time link to a floating security response on your street that is available to be contacted immediately upon your requirements via mobile phone.
• Will provide you with access to information regarding problem customers/possible or known shoplifters etc

WHAT DUTIES WILL OUR SECURITY PERSONNEL PERFORM?

Our floating security personnel primary purpose is to protect your physical assets whilst acting as a deterrent to possible thieves and apprehending them if required. Our guards also protect your staff from the threat of verbal and physical abuse. Our floating guards will provide but are not limited to the services listed overleaf.

PATROL:

• Internal patrols of the premises sales floor ensuring a safe working environment for staff and a safe shopping environment for customers
• Patrols ofthe perimeter ofthe premises
• Patrol of allocated streets and areas

MONITORING:

• Monitor and operation of alarm systems
• Monitor and operation of any specialised alarms
• Monitor and operation of fire alarms
• Monitor, locate and operation of all fire equipment
• Monitor and operation of any in—house CCTV systems

INSPECTION:

• Inspection of bags brought out of premises
• Inspection of delivery vehicles in and out of delivery bay and premises
• Inspections of documentation of goods entering or leaving the premises when directed by management

ESCORT:

• Escort deliveries and valuable consignments, especially where sensitive or restricted areas may be avoided
• Escort and assist in any cash collection or transit
• Escort staff to car parks/taxi ranks/bus stops etc

RESPOND:

• Respond to criminally activated incidents
• Apprehend shoplifters based on the clients apprehension policy
• Assist store detectives with any apprehensions
• Assist in—house security personnel with any apprehensions
• Respond to emergency situations
• Respond to First Aid required accidents
• Respond to fire and evacuation situations
• Respond to hazardous incidents
• Respond to Health & Safety issues

SUPPORT:

• Support any in-house security in their duties
• Support teamwork with in-house personnel
  

ARE CORK-SAFE PERSONNEL TRAINED?

All Onyx Security Corksafe personnel are licenced and badged by the Private Security Authority and hold BOTH the Door Supervisor AI\ID Guarding licences. All our personnel receive training approved by the board of the Security Institute of Ireland, all successfully completing the following;
